This class teaches the fundamentals of gun safety as well as proper aiming and firing techniques, with an emphasis on overall marksmanship and weapons manipulation.
Course Description:
The Basic Rifle course is designed to give students an extensive introduction to gun safety and teaches the skills necessary to effectively operate a rifle-style weapon. Our skilled and highly trained instructors will help guide students through a series of hands-on exercises that are easy to understand for students of all experience levels and help instill confidence and effective shooting techniques in even the most novice of students. Our instructors understand that, for some people, simply handling a firearm of any kind can be intimidating. It is our goal to build confidence in our students by ensuring that they are taught the fundamentals of operating a carbine with accuracy, while still adhering to all gun safety rules.
By applying the basic principles of weapons manipulation, we will help each student reach their highest level of success by utilizing areas of strength and improving areas of weakness for each student. A rifle-style weapon can often be more intimidating for many people, especially for a person with no carbine handling experience. If that sounds like you, let our highly qualified team of instructors share the tips and tricks they’ve learned from years of experience to help give you the tools and confidence you need to handle, aim, and fire your weapon with accuracy and precision.
If you are someone who is already comfortable with a rifle and have firearm handling experience, our team of instructors is here to help you enhance your shooting technique and hone your marksmanship skills.
Our highly trained and well-qualified staff have decades of experience, a wealth of knowledge, and unparalleled training in firearms operation and manipulation. Let us share some of that with you.

Throughout this 2-Day class, students can expect to split their time between classroom instruction and hands-on practice in the vehicle, on one of our tracks or courses. During the hands-on portion of the lesson, students are literally put “in the driver’s seat” and given the opportunity to put into practice the theories and techniques that they have learned in the classroom. Students will be instructed on different techniques to remain calm in these types of high-stress, fast-paced situations, while ensuring that they maintain vehicle control and are able to successfully navigate their vehicle during a number of possible in-transit emergency scenarios. In the real world, we cannot plan for everything, but we can help give you the tools to help increase your chances of successfully navigating and evading dangerous obstacles should the need arise.
Some of the tools and techniques that students can expect to learn in the classroom and then demonstrate in the vehicle include:
- Fundamental Vehicle Control
- Vehicle Dynamics (I & II)
- Proper Braking Techniques
- Swerve-to-Avoid Maneuvers
- Passenger-Side Driving (Driver Emergency Situation)
- Realistic Situational Exercises
- Emergency Backing Techniques (“Y” and “J” Turning)
- Close-Proximity Driving
- Off-Road Vehicle Recovery
- Situational Awareness Tactics
A final exercise will be completed at the end of the course to give students the opportunity to practice all that they have learned over the course of the class.
